TV-VCR issues:
The TV-VCR combo's normally used with our product, are standard
off-the-shelf products, intentionally to minimize your maintenance costs.
These TV's and VCR's can be obtained by our customers anywhere.
1) One item of note is that these are designed for indoor
operation. So sometimes in the morning, especially, your TV-VCR may not turn on.
This is probably due to the "Dew Circuit" protection inside the TV. It
basically notices the temperature difference between itself and it's
surroundings and if it senses condensation, then it won't turn on.
There are several ways you can avoid this.
One, is to keep the TV or TV-VCR in a temperature regulated location until ready
to transport (have it plugged into an active outlet). This will keep the
circuitry in a ready condition.
The second method, is to plug the TV-VCR into
your cigarette/cigar lighter and leave it plugged in for about 15 minutes, while
you are going to the job site. Then turn it on. This will provide the warming
circuit inside the TV time to do it's job.
2)Another item that often causes the TV-VCR combo to not turn
on, is the simple fact of leaving a video tape in the VCR when you've taken
power away from the VCR.
Normally the DC-AC converter can handle the
power of the TV-VCR, but when a tape is in the VCR and the unit hasn't had
power, the action of just connecting power to it tells the TV-VCR to attempt to
move the motors that control positioning on the tape. This action combined with
the initial power surge to turn on the TV creates a spike in demand that the
converters have problems with. ( It can also cause a fuse to blow in the
vehicle).
The simple cure, don't leave a tape in the
VCR! If you do, connect the TV-VCR combo to a normal wall outlet,
anywhere, and eject the tape. Then operate the TV-VCR anywhere you want
to.
